This masterpiece of baker’s art alternates five moist layers of double-chocolate cake with a chocolate-truffle cream filling. Yum! The hand-decorated cake is enveloped in orange-tinted fondant, topped with green fondant leaves and a chocolate stem. In making it, accomplished baker Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in California’s Napa Valley combines the best European bittersweet chocolate with the freshest butter and eggs. This pumpkin cake would be a sweet ending to any fall party that you throw. It would also be a perfect treat to take to a Halloween event or even Thanksgiving dinner.
