Following a massive Facebook campaign to bring back Cadbury’s Wispa Gold, the first bar in the world is available to buy in The Wonder Room at Selfridges in London for $1,628 (£961.48).

The bar is covered in edible gold leaf and sheathed in a gold leaf wrapper and will be on display for one week in the store’s jewelery department. The bar’s price is said to be the precise value of its weight in gold.

The yummy chocolate will be delivered by none other than Tony Hadley, the singer with Spandau Ballet whose biggest hit was “Gold.”

All proceeds from the sale of the chocolate bar will go to the UK Lowe Syndrome Trust where Tony Hadley has spent many years acting as patron of the worthwhile cause.??

Commenting on the activity Selfridges Director of Wonder Room and Accessories Sebastian Manes says: ‘The Wonder Room is always full of the latest must-have gifts. The first Wispa Gold bar is so covetable. We’re proud to have this much loved British treat on sale beside precious pieces of jewelery and we’re sure that to passionate fans of Wispa Gold, it really is worth its weight in gold.’
