Fifty Shades of Grey Wines

Capitalizing on the vast popularity of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, author E.L. James has released wines to set the tone, you know, just in case her imagery of bondage and sadomasochism didn’t get you enough in the mood. The Fifty Shades of Grey “Red Satin” is intended to be an intoxicating blend of Petite Syrah and Syrah and is described as having notes of black cherry, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, leather and clove. The wine is aged in French oak barrels. The “White Silk” wine is a blend of Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc with aromatics that include lychee and honey and tasting notes of grapefruit, mineral, pear and butterscotch. The white wine is aged in steel tanks. The Fifty Shades of Grey wines are sold around the country for $18. Drink the pain away. Laters, baby.
