Hooray! Aldi Is Bringing Its Wine Advent Calendar (And a Cheese One!) to the U.S. This Christmas

Last Christmas the United States was green as the Grinch with envy over Aldi‘s wine advent calendar. Aldi did not release the much coveted item in the U.S. and we were ready to book a flight to England just to pick one up. This Christmas will be different. Santa heard our cries.

To ease the heartbreak of last year’s UK-only release, Aldi’s wine advent calendar will be available in the United States for the first time on November 7. Obviously, Aldi predicts it will sell out quickly. It will retail for $69.99. The wine calendar will be based on Aldi’s award-winning wines and contain 24 mini bottles. Each box comes with 24 mini bottles of wine in red, white, rosé, and bubbly varieties, so you can cheers the lead-up to Christmas with all your favorite Aldi wines.

And that’s not all. Aldi is also releasing a cheese advent calendar, a clear accompaniment to the wine calendar. It’s a lot more budget-friendly and will retail for $12.99, so pick up a few for hostess gifts. The festive cheese calendar will contain 24 imported mini cheeses, including cheddar, gouda, and edam cheese. Of course, you could always double up and grab both the wine and cheese advent calendars… a month of wine and cheese nights sounds like a pretty wonderful way to celebrate the holidays.
