Tesla Motors unveiled its much anticipated Model 3 last week at its Design Studio. At the unveil, the electric car for the masses was also immediately available for pre-orders at the event, online and at its stores across the world.
Tesla-Motors-Model-3-DrivingThe results were nothing short of remarkable, in 24 hours the automaker received $1,000 deposits for 198,000 vehicles. By end of Saturday that number grew to over 276,000 units. In other words, people really like this brand, like these cars and are buying them in unprecedented numbers.

We find that like is not a strong enough word for us. We absolutely are in LOVE with the design of the Model 3. Which has us thinking… If we order one today, when would we get our hands on it?

Based on Tesla production forecasts—if you placed an order today, your Model 3 likely won’t be ready until well into 2019. Yes that is a long time, but this fact doesn’t seem to show signs of slowing down reservations. Prospective buyers are willing to throw down large deposits and are willing to wait months, possibly years, in advance of delivery. And they are willing to pay the highest prices ever for cars sold in these volumes. Tesla Motors now has a new problem on its hands; filling orders. Obviously this shows the pent up demand and it clearly outstrips supply.Tesla-Motors-Model-3-DriversThe Model 3 appears to be an immediate success as well as a game changer for the auto industry. We are happy to see that US based Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) has matured and has positioned itself as a industry player. Congratulations to Elon and the team at Tesla Motors!

Official Press Release
Model 3 is the next logical step of Tesla’s “secret master plan” and mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

Like every Tesla, Model 3 is engineered to combine range, performance, safety and utility. Smart design maximizes interior space, to comfortably fit 5 adults and all of their gear. Tesla makes fast cars, Model 3 is no exception. The high efficiency electric motor provides zero to 60 mph acceleration in less than six seconds. And when equipped with electric all-wheel drive, Model 3 provides safe and dependable traction in all conditions.

Designed with safety as a priority, Model 3 should be the safest car in its class once testing completes. This, combined with over 200 miles of range while starting at $35,000 before incentives, makes Model 3 an extraordinary mid-size sedan.

Model 3 will begin production in late 2017, ramping Tesla vehicle production to 500,000 vehicles per year.
