The ‘31’ handbag, Fall/Winter’s signature accessory, was inspired by a bag once owned by Gabrielle Chanel. According to Karl Lagerfeld, its name refers to a French saying. “You know that there is special meaning behind it, the expression ‘se mettre sur son 31’ means when one gets dressed up.”
The ‘31’ can be carried in different ways: firmly in hand by its handle or folded like a clutch, or slung across the body. Quilted and generously shaped, it comes in a range of bold colors, from pale pink to red, coral and electric blue, as well as different materials, leather, canvas or tweed.
